ZOE LEELA

Fascinated by the creative energy and cultural freedom in the digital space, ZOE.LEELA released her debut EP, “Queendom Come,” on Cologne’s  Rec72.net  netlabel in 2009. The EP was available for free under a Creative Commons license and enjoyed a wide audience quickly. The public interest was aroused and so the Kreuzberger and the media started to dance.

Two years later, with the help of the renowned MOTOR Entertainment, she releases her debut album, DIGITAL GUILT.

With the same freedoms of an innovative label, the album is available this time both as a traditional physical product and under Creative Commons license for download. For the buyer, this means freedom to decide if they buy from the store or via the website of  ZOELEELA.com  for the price they choose.

Overall, DIGITAL GUILT presents great complexity. Powerful drum & bass, driving grooves, jazz, rags, dub fragments, sweeping melodies and always a very personal, poignant voice to make the music stir.

We are excited that ZOE.LEELA, together with her live band, will celebrate their record release party at White Trash.

Expect not only a clash of electro, beats and bass guitar riffs, but an immediate intensity from an artist in search of an honest aesthetic, between herself and the audience, again and again.

Fasziniert von der schöpferischen Energie und der kulturellen Freiheit im digitalen Raum, veröffentlichte ZOE.LEELA im November 2009 ihre Debüt-EP “Queendom Come”. Die EP wurde unter Creative Commons kostenlos angeboten und erfreute sich schnell einer breiten Hörerschaft. Das öffentliche Interesse an der Kreuzbergerin war geweckt und die Medien baten zum Tanz. 
Zwei Jahre später arbeitet sie mit MOTOR Entertainment zusammen und veröffentlicht mit Hilfe des renommierten Labels ihr Debüt-Album DIGITAL GUILT.

Mit allen Chancen eines innovativen Labels, wird DIGITAL GUILT nun parallel auf einem klassischen Platten Label – MOTOR Music – UND unter Creative Commons veröffentlicht. Für den Käufer bedeutet das: freie Entscheidung, ob er sich DIGITAL GUILT im Laden holt oder auf der Webseite von ZOE.LEELA per Download plus Donation Button selbst den Preis bestimmt. So wird aus dem Konsument der mündige Konsument. 
Insgesamt präsentiert sich DIGITAL GUILT in großer Komplexität. Druckvoller Drum & Bass, treibende Grooves, Jazzfetzen, Dub-Fragmente, mitreißende Melodien und eine immer wieder sehr persönliche, ergreifende Stimme machen die Musik aufwühlend und körperlich. 
Wir freuen uns sehr, dass ZOE.LEELA gemeinsam mit ihrer Live Band am heutigen Abend ihre Record Release Party im White Trash feiert. 
Dabei wird die Besucher nicht nur ein Clash aus Electro, Beats und satten Gitarren Riffs erwarten, sondern auch eine unmittelbare Intensität, welche die Ausnahme Künstlerin auf der Suche nach einer ehrlichen Ästhetik, zwischen sich und dem Publikum immer wieder aufzubauen weiß.
