Future Days with Twisted Robot presents: THULEBASEN + THREAD PULLS
at the Restaurant
THULEBASEN (DK)

Thulebasen arrives on an electric carpet of flying guitar and beat. A pool of sound where paper silhouette vocals, melodies of suffocating air and rhythms like the rustling of leaves break in an abstract rain dance on the driest day of the year. Train journeyes to Göteborg, the bridge Bifrost and blue bones are some of the themes on the debut album Guitar Wand released on Escho. A slightly scratched and gloriously warped production, where riff and reverse are code words. A new album is expected released in the fall 2010 on Tambourhinoceros and Escho.
Nis Bysted is the main creative force behind Thulebasen and a founder member of the Escho label, which has been releasing music and promoting concerts independently in Denmark since 2005. He also plays electric guitar with Mit Nye Band, which features both veterans and new faces of the young Danish alternative music scene

Thread Pulls are an experimental two-piece with the drumbeat at their core. Thread Pulls became the first Irish band to be invited to play at the celebrated All Tomorrow's Parties festival. After releasing four EPs on 9-pt records as a three piece, they stripped down to the duo of Gavin Duffy and Peter Maybury, and spent the following two years developing their upbeat progressive sound which meshes trumpet, electronics and treated vocals with a no-wave inspired mix of repetitive bass and drums. Thread Pulls will release their début album in September 2010.
