live: ANTARCTICA (Rock - Aus)

Blending a mix of analogue synth rock and post guitar britpop, Antarctica are a new band based in Australia’s music capital, Melbourne.

Formed by members of Subaudible Hum and Wellyn, both seasoned campaigners currently on extended breaks, Antarctica will be releasing their first single in Australia this coming April.

In June/July 2010, Antarctica then will be heading off on a European tour that will see them take in 30 dates across 14 countries to promote their debut record.

Recorded at Hothouse Studios with Finn Keane (Wilco, Franz Ferdinand, Oasis), this full length release will be available in Australia in August 2010.

The Queen's Head started as a whim of Mr.Speaker's, unhappy with his self-imposed 'ideas' of what was 'good'. But it quickly became much more than a mere giggle on the side of his other successful sonic behemoth - SubAudible Hum (http://www,myspace.com/subaudiblehum) - and took on an earth-shattering importance second to none.

The Queen's Head now tours the world seeking friends of whimsical electro indie everywhere. Sometimes they have drums, sometimes a laptop emitting the fattest of beats. Either way crowds are left quivering, with sore legs and arms from dancing, sore livers from drinking, and sore minds from struggling all night and day to come to terms with what they just saw.
