THE LAST OVEN EXPERIENCE

"Yeah, it could have been my last oven experience ... " sagte unser australischer Freund Michael, als er uns an einem entspannten Abend im Herbst 2008 erzählte, wie er in seiner Bambushütte aufwachte und feststellte, dass sein Mitbewohner den Küchenofen angelassen hatte. Zum Glück war Michael damals nicht mitsamt seiner Hütte abgefackelt!

Ich aber dachte nur:

"Was für ein geiler Bandname! Last Oven Experience!"

In den nächsten Monaten machte ich mich auf die Suche nach Musikern, schrieb ein paar Songs, ordnete alte und neue Ideen und probierte es nach Jahren mal wieder mit einer Fender Stratocaster. Das war die Initialzündung. Die Ideen wurden konkreter, ich fragte Stephan und Fabian ob sie mit ins Studio kommen (Gott sei Dank stimmten sie zu), und nach einer Probe vor Ostern und einer Woche Studio im April 2009 hatten wir alles im Kasten.

Dann gab es die gängigen Verzögerungen, wie Gesänge aufnehmen, Termine finden, Mischen, Urlaub, Mischen und Mastern, um endlich die sieben Songs hochzuladen, die wir im April voller Elan ganz frisch auf die Festplatte geknallt haben.

"Yeah, it could have been my last oven experience ... " said our australien friend Michael one evening in autumn 2008, after he had told us how he woke up in his bamboo cabin and realized that his mate left the kitchen oven on. Fortunately Michael wasn't grilled in the cabin!

But I just thought:

"What a great name for a group! Last Oven Experience!"

The following months I was looking for musicians, wrote a few songs, put some old and new ideas together and tried after years a Fender Stratocaster again. That was the start. The ideas got more precise, I asked Stephan and Fabian if they would join me in the studio (thank God, they did!) and after one rehearsal and one week in the studio in April 2009 the main work was done.

Then after the typical delays like recording the vocals, searching for dates, mixing, holidays, mixing and mastering, the songs were finished and ready to upload. These are the seven tracks we recorded full of enthusiasm.
